Non-Renewable Energy
Non-renewable energy sources are those which run out.

Fossil Fuels
- In coal, oil and gas fired power stations fossil fuels are burned to produce heat.
- The heat boils water to produce steam which drives a generator to produce electricity.

Nuclear
- Atoms of radioactive minerals such as uranium are split inside a nuclear reactor.
- Heat produced from the reaction heats water and the steam drives turbines and generates electricity.
